Gleann Series
2025
The Gleann series is a meditation on rhythm, balance, and quiet presence. Across seven works, I explore how structure doesn’t limit the work but instead creates room for experimentation, allowing scale, pattern, and relief to shift as light moves across cloth. Some forms are tightly composed, ribbed, and precise, while others flow generously, their surfaces rising and falling into softer contours.
This movement from control to release reflects the cadence of my studio practice, where intuition and discipline coexist. Each work builds on earlier motifs while reinterpreting seam lines and layered expanses with subtle variations. The result is both grounded and dynamic: the works appear steady in one moment, then morph into something more alive and fluid as you move around them or see them in changing light.
Creating Gleann gave me stillness in an unsettled time. I hope these works carry the same quality outward — offering a moment of quiet, a calming presence, and a reminder of the beauty in both order and openness.
